How HelpAVet.US Works

How a sponsorship works.

You sponsor. We connect your gift to a veteran who applied for a covered subscription. They receive a normal Coach Jeff account — no indication it was sponsored, no badge, nothing that marks them as someone who needed help. Just the same product anyone pays for.

$365 is one veteran for one full year — a dollar a day. All of it goes to the veteran's Coach Jeff subscription. Card processing is added at checkout, so none of it comes out of the veteran's year.

You'll receive periodic impact reports — aggregate, anonymous — showing how many veterans were covered, how many sessions logged, and renewal rates. You'll know it worked.

My father, Captain Gary D. Humphries, was killed in action in Vietnam on January 26, 1969. I was three years old.

I grew up without my father because of war. Veterans' issues have never been a cause for me — they've been personal every single day of my life.

I spent 30 years on national radio learning how to make people feel heard. That's what the medium actually teaches you — not how to talk, but how to make someone on the other side of a speaker feel seen, understood, and worth showing up for tomorrow.

I've also been in rooms where Americans were doing things most Americans will never see. I've visited Guantanamo Bay three times as a journalist. I've reported from Iraq, Afghanistan, and active conflict zones across the Middle East and Israel. I've had guns held to my back by terrorists on three separate occasions. I know what service costs — and I've seen what comes home.

The VA does what it can. A therapist has to see other patients and get some sleep. Coach Jeff is always on duty — 24/7 — to make sure our heroes are always seen and heard.

I built Coach Jeff because my father didn't have anything like it. Because the veterans I've met coming home from the wars I covered didn't have anything like it. Because consistency, presence, and being remembered matter — and those are things the current system can't provide at 2am on a Tuesday.
